About the project

Project overview

Romaltyn is located in the historic Baia Mare mining district in north-western Romania and reprocesses mining waste to recover precious metals. The asset also handles gold-bearing ore and concentrates, and includes a licensed exploration and mining division.

The technical system comprises a tailings extraction unit, a processing and refining unit with a detoxification system, and a decantation plant, connected by 13 km of pipelines. Historic throughput from 1999–2006 reached 5.4 million tonnes; installed design capacity is 2.8 million tonnes per year.
